This Privacy Policy explains how the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce & Industry ("the Chamber", "we", "us") handles personal information submitted through this website and through the registration, sponsorship, exhibitor, professional zone and enquiry forms associated with the Recover & Rebuild Jamaica Expo 2026 ("the Expo"), being held 11–12 July 2026 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.
We are the data controller for the information you submit. We process it in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2020 of Jamaica.
1. Information we collect
When you complete an Expo form or contact us, we may collect:
- Contact details: full name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, parish or location, organisation or affiliation.
- Attendee profile: category (e.g. homeowner, contractor, developer, professional, buyer), reason for attending, whether you have an active rebuilding or renovation project, approximate project or procurement value, and the product or service categories you are exploring.
- Engagement preferences: who you'd like to meet, interest in professional consultations, days you plan to attend, group vs individual attendance, sponsorship/exhibitor/professional zone interest, and how you heard about the Expo.
- Sessions & workshops: interest in conference sessions, CPD-accredited workshops, and the Skills Competition & Trades Olympiad.
- Accessibility: any accommodations you tell us you need so we can plan the venue experience for you.
- Comments: any free-text questions, feedback or notes you choose to share.
- Website analytics: aggregate, privacy-respecting usage data collected through Umami (page views, referrer, approximate country, device type). Umami does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites.
We only collect what you choose to give us. Providing the mandatory fields is needed to complete a registration; everything else is optional.
2. How we use your information
We use the information you submit to:
- Process your registration, enquiry or expression of interest and respond to you.
- Send you logistical updates about the Expo — schedule, venue, parking, session details, changes.
- Plan event capacity, floor layout, session content and the Professional Zone based on the mix of attendee interests.
- Match attendees, exhibitors, sponsors and professionals where there is a clear mutual interest you have indicated (for example, booking a consultation or requesting an introduction).
- Arrange any accessibility accommodations you have requested.
- Share occasional updates about the Expo, the Chamber and partner activities — you can opt out at any time.
- Produce aggregate, anonymised reporting for the Chamber, our partner Build Expo Jamaica Limited, sponsors, government agencies and the media (for example, "4,200 attendees registered, of which X% were contractors"). Aggregate reporting never identifies you.
- Improve the website and our future events.
3. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Build Expo Jamaica Limited, our strategic partner in delivering the Expo, on the same terms as this policy.
- Service providers who help us run the event, including form hosting (Jotform), email and messaging services, analytics (Umami) and venue operations. These providers process information on our instructions only.
- Sponsors, exhibitors or professionals — only where you have specifically indicated you want to be introduced or have requested a consultation. We do not share full attendee lists with sponsors.
- Public authorities where we are legally required to do so.
Some of these providers (e.g. Jotform) may store data on servers outside Jamaica. Where this is the case, we rely on their published security and data protection commitments.
4. How long we keep your information
We keep registration and enquiry information for as long as is reasonably necessary to deliver the Expo and to communicate with you about closely related future Chamber activities — generally up to three (3) years after the event. After that, identifying information is deleted or anonymised. Aggregate, anonymised statistics may be retained indefinitely for historical reporting.
5. Your rights
Under Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020 you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it.
- Withdraw your consent to receive marketing communications at any time.
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Information Commissioner of Jamaica.
To exercise any of these rights, email mbccexpo@gmail.com and we will respond within thirty (30) days.
6. Security
We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information you submit, including access controls and trusted form and email providers. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website uses Umami, a privacy-respecting analytics tool that measures aggregate website traffic without setting cookies and without tracking individual visitors across sites. Forms hosted by Jotform may set their own cookies on their pages, governed by the Jotform Privacy Policy.
8. Children
The Expo is intended for an adult professional and consumer audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will always show when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page in advance of taking effect.
